Self-Care Day 6: Sustained by God’s Provision

Today, on Day 6 of my self-care journey and the second day of our church’s solemn assembly, I affirm this truth:
God sustains me with all I need. He is my provider, my strength, and my portion. As I walk through this season of fasting and reflection, I am reminded of His abundant care and love for me.

I find encouragement in Philippians 4:19 (NASB):

“And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

This verse assures me that I don’t need to rely solely on my own strength or resources because God’s provision is unending. He knows exactly what I need—spiritually, emotionally, and physically—and He provides in perfect measure.

Today, I will prepare a nourishing salad with mixed greens, shredded carrots, and avocado. As I do, I’ll reflect on how God provides everything to sustain me—not just food for my body but also His Word to sustain my spirit. Just as these ingredients come together to form a wholesome meal, God brings together every detail of my life for my good and His glory.

I speak these truths to myself:

God is my ultimate source of strength and sustenance.

I have all I need to thrive, because He cares for me deeply.

When I feel empty, God fills me with His love, peace, and grace.

Lord, thank You for being my provider. As I nourish my body with the good things You’ve created, nourish my spirit with Your presence. Teach me to rely on You fully and to trust in Your ability to meet all my needs.

“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the person who takes refuge in Him.”Psalm 34:8 (NASB)

Amen.
