Self-Care Day 7: Renewed in His Presence

As I continue this self-care journey and join in the second day of our church’s solemn assembly, I embrace the opportunity to care for both my body and spirit. Today, I remind myself of this truth: God is the one who refreshes and restores me.

I’m encouraged by Isaiah 40:31 (NASB):

“Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.”

This morning, I will take five minutes to stretch and breathe deeply, allowing my body to release tension and my mind to focus on God’s peace. As I hydrate with lemon-infused tea, I will reflect on the refreshing nature of His Word and His Spirit. Just as my body needs water to thrive, my soul needs His presence to be renewed.

I affirm these truths today:

God is my source of strength and energy; I will rely on Him.

With every deep breath, I release worry and embrace His peace.

As I care for my body, I honor God, for it is His temple.

Lord, thank You for being my sustainer and source of life. Help me to stretch into new places of trust and faith today, just as I stretch my body. Teach me to pause and breathe deeply in Your presence, knowing that You hold me steady. Refresh my soul, renew my mind, and strengthen my body so that I can continue this journey for Your glory.

“The Lord is my shepherd, I will not be in need. He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul.”Psalm 23:1-3a (NASB)

Amen.
