Today marks a special day in my self-care journey and the beginning of our church’s solemn assembly. As I embrace this time of fasting, reflection, and renewal, I anchor my heart and mind in the words of Psalm 46:10 (NASB):
I am a Daughter of the most high King, wife, mother, and womanpreneur. Encouraging. Sharing. Living. Balancing. My husband calls me "Ruth" based on the Biblical character of the same name. Her life parallels the Proverbs 31 woman, hence the title and motivation for my blog.
"Stop striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted on the earth."
This verse reminds me to release control, rest in God’s presence, and trust that He is sovereign over all. The world may feel noisy and demanding, but today I choose stillness—acknowledging God’s greatness and aligning my spirit with His will.
To nurture my body and soul, I’ll sip tea, enjoy some fresh fruit, and let these small acts of care remind me of God’s provision. From 3 PM to 6 AM, I’ll fast from food and technology, creating space for prayer, worship, and listening to His voice.
As I quiet my soul, I remind myself:
Lord, as I walk through this day, help me rest in Your peace, trust in Your promises, and honor You with my words, actions, and thoughts. May my self-care journey draw me closer to You, and may my fast be an offering of worship that glorifies Your name.
"Lord, I surrender my worries, my busyness, and my distractions to You. Teach me to be still and know that You are God. Let Your presence fill every corner of my heart today."
Amen.
