Self-Care Day 2: Strength Through Discipline and Faith

Today, I took time to reflect on
Daniel 1:12-15 during my quiet time. Daniel’s faith, discipline, and trust in God inspire me to remain committed to my fast and my self-care journey. Just as Daniel and his companions flourished by honoring God with their choices, I am reminded that my sacrifices and intentional care will lead to renewal and strength.

I fasted until 6 p.m. and broke my fast with fruit and peanut butter—a simple, nourishing meal that reminded me of God’s provision and goodness. I feel lighter, clearer, and more connected to Him as I continue this journey.

Scripture Reflection:
“Please put your servants to the test for ten days, and let us be given some vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then let our appearance be examined...and deal with your servants according to what you see.”
— Daniel 1:12-13 (NASB)

This passage reminds me that discipline and trust in God produce visible results—not just outwardly but also inwardly. As I honor God with my choices, I trust that He is strengthening me and working in ways I cannot yet see.

Encouragement to Myself:
I am proud of the discipline I’ve shown today and the way I’m aligning my actions with my faith. Fasting and self-care are not always easy, but I know that God sees my effort and is refining me through this process.

I will keep going, knowing that each step brings me closer to the peace, strength, and clarity I desire. God is faithful, and as I trust Him with this journey, I know He will honor my efforts and bless me abundantly. I am growing, flourishing, and becoming all He has created me to be.
