New Year, New Blessings

It’s a New Year, and today marks the beginning of #Ignite—a church-wide season of dedicating our first six weeks to God.

Alongside this, I am embarking on a new month of self-care, which includes a healthy eating plan emphasizing fruits, vegetables, and simple salads, all while maintaining alignment with the principles of the Daniel Fast. Each day will focus on spiritual growth, healthy eating, and emotional well-being.

As Maya Angelou once said, “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” This journey is an opportunity to grow closer to God and nurture my mind, body, and spirit.

Today, I will:

Write down my intentions for the fast and pray for wisdom, remembering the words of James 1:5 (NASB): “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

Enjoy a fresh fruit salad, giving thanks for God’s provision, as encouraged in 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NASB): “Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

Walk at least 10,000 steps, committing to care for the body God has given me, inspired by 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NASB): “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought for a price: therefore, glorify God in your body.”

I will also incorporate additional devotionals into my daily reading, including a chapter from Proverbs each day to gain wisdom and understanding. As Proverbs 2:6 (NASB) reminds us, “For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.”

Additionally, I will document this journey by writing a daily blog, sharing reflections on how God is working in my life throughout this season. This aligns with Psalm 96:3 (NASB): “Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.”

This season is not just about sacrifice but about renewal, growth, and seeking God’s presence in every step.

Through these practices, I hope to grow closer to God and encourage others to seek Him wholeheartedly.
