31 Day Challenge - Days 13 & 14 - Nothing But Smooth Sailing!!

After this weekend's blessing of a night away from home at the OCBF Couples Leadership Retreat, Hubby and I decided that we're going to try to attend a Couples Retreat every so often to refresh, renew, and remind of us of God's purpose and plan for our marriage. We both had such a wonderful time!! We met some great couples, learned so much more about each other, our personalities, specific ways we are similar and different, who got game, and so much more. And without even trying, may have gotten some business, too. LOL. Now comes the reality and challenge - sticking to and applying what we've learned to our daily lives!!

One thing that really stood out to me is the way we view our weaknesses. Number one, we referred to weaknesses as growth areas. I found that viewing our struggles and issues in this way; one, make them easier to swallow, especially because calling someone weak may put them on the defensive; two, it makes them easier to discuss, because we don't put up walls or defenses; and three, it gives us hope because God can always grow us. We're not perfect beings and there's always room for growth and improvement. As husband and wife, we plant and water, we tend to the garden, but God grows us.
